“A gentle, humble and calm personality handling complex situations without stress. He was actively involved in social activities like distribution of food to patients and their attendants for years, even during COVID. He led all network related tasks for projects like LMS, FMM, CMM, WISE, DLW, CMS, HRMS, CMS, SLAM, TMS, HMIS and FOIS network etc. He fought 50 days for his life and then succumbed to COVID. We will always miss him !”

Shri Nirmal Kumar

“Nirmal joined CRIS in 2007 and was assigned to the charting module of PRS group, Kolkata. He left an indelible mark in mordernisation of charting and also contributed to development of bilingual charts, vacant berth transfer, alternative train allotment system, online display of charts etc. making charting more efficient and passenger friendly.
Nirmal, underwent a life saving kidney transplant in the year 2012 as both of his kidneys had failed. He did not let the medical condition affect his professional life. At work, he was meticulous and sincere while at a personal level he was extremely rational yet compassionate and helpful.
Upon learning about the sudden demise of his younger brother, Nirmal the dutiful eldest son of the family, disregarded his personal safety and went home during April 2021. Unfortunately, there he contracted CoVID and battled severe CoVID pneumonia for a fortnight. Eventually he left for his heavenly abode on 15-05-2021.
Nirmal, will be remembered as a humble man having an endearing personality, exceptional resolve and abilities along with the warmest smile that you will ever come across ”— PRS Team
